ABOUT THE TEAM

Though we are virtual and scattered across the country, we communicate frequently (Slack is always open and channels are very active!), have a tight-knit team, and support each other across roles and projects. We pair, encourage iterative development, and are passionate about solving problems. Training and education is a big part of who we are, not only as a company, but also as a mindset. ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and engaged Front End Developer who is motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative to assist in developing our brand new, state of the art continuing education platform.

  • Full-time W2 position, work core U.S. business hours in your time zone

RESONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute your development skills and experience to create top-notch front end code for our new platform built on the latest frameworks and libraries (Vue 3, Nuxt 3, GraphQL)
  • Work closely with Development Managers, Front End and Back End Developers, UX Designers, QA Engineers, Product Owners, and Project Managers to troubleshoot bugs and issues, refactor existing code, and develop new features
  • Actively participate in and contribute to stand-ups and planning meetings
  • Collaborate with other Front End Developers by participating in code reviews, providing formal and informal feedback, and taking part in pairing sessions
  • Help plot our future for the front end through advocating for standards, technologies, tooling and more
  • Demonstrate an ongoing desire to learn and grow

REQUIREMENTS

Core:

  • Proactive communication, self-management, and time management are critical in this role!
  • Comfortable working with Vue 3, Nuxt 3, and Apollo GraphQL to create large-scale, enterprise-level applications and has contributed substantial development effort toward the release of at least 1 production application
  • Experience writing unit tests using Jest, Vitest, or a similar testing framework
  • Worked on a multi-developer agile team in a professional setting and familiar with scrum ceremonies and processes
  • Worked with deploying code that leverages a Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CICD) pipeline (e.g. CircleCI, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience working with Vuetify (UI framework), Vee-Validate (validation package), and Vitest (testing framework) is preferred
  • Experience developing complex SSR applications with Nuxt 3 is preferred

Other:

  • A communication pro - must be able to explain technical issues to a non-technical person
  • Experience creating responsive, accessible web components and interface elements from wireframes or mocks
  • Knowledge of website performance, web accessibility, and related best practices
  • Adept at full-stack testing and troubleshooting
  • Strong independent research skills, you visit MDN, GitHub, API docs, and StackOverflow to find answers when needed
  • Comfortable on the command line and using git
  • Detail-oriented, your code is semantic and well-formatted
  • Open-minded to new ideas and development approaches as the industry evolves
  • You take ownership of your work and communicate progress proactively
  • You are passionate about front end development, elegant interfaces, and creating the best possible user experience
